Our Foundation

ADAPT FOUNDATION, INC. IS A NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION.

The ADAPT Foundation was created in 2011.The ADAPT Foundation works towards the elimination of prejudice and discrimination of addicts and the mentally ill. Addicts and the mentally ill are generally perceived by the public as somehow being able to ‘just stop’ their behaviors. Unfortunately, research has shown that perceived prejudices within the healthcare community remain strong. Discrimination does still exist for the addict or mentally ill person within our society. Most of this is due to a lack of information and education regarding the causes, as well as the signs and symptoms of addiction and mental illness. It is the goal of the ADAPT Foundation to eliminate this level of prejudice and discrimination by effectively educating and informing the public at large about these issues.

OUR WORK INVOLVES:

  • Leading Dialogue, Sustaining Communities, Sharing Our Expertise and Advocating Change.

As we work inside communities, we learn about the unique educational, health and economic challenges addicted and mentally ill people face. We lend our voice to local and national groups that promote change in public policies that impact the addicted and the mentally ill.

We view our mission through the dual lenses of racial equity and civic engagement, and partner with those who embrace these ideals.
